Instead of other homework, my students were able to play reading bingo over Spring Break.  I tried to fill the board with reading activities that were motivating and encouraged students and their families to participate.

As teachers, we all know that having students read A LOT is a critical component to developing them into strong readers.  Students who regularly read for pleasure score higher on reading assessments and stronger overall readers.  If you are looking for a fun way to encourage your students to read over the Spring Break Holiday, I invite you to download this FREE Spring Break Reading Bingo by clicking on the image above.  Make an extra copy for yourself….because I know you will want to play along yourself!

Growing bulbs is something that very few of my kids have ever seen in person.  I love being able to grow them in transparent cups so that the root development can be seen.

Bees play such an important role in the Spring.  This lesson idea helps kids to understand how pollination occurs.
