WOW: Look at that BIG Number

With all the end of the year chaos, I always look forward to celebrating student success in as many ways as possible.  If your school uses Accelerated Reader and you are looking a way to WOW your students, I would encourage you to recognize the number of words they have read during the year.
I love seeing the shock and amazement on their little faces when they see what they have accomplished.
This Accelerated Reader Award is part of the Awards Unit that I use with my students and it is available as a FREEBIE by clicking on the image below.

  2. Our librarian gives out million word awards! It is always fun to see who the youngest student is going to be to reach 1 million words!!

  3. Awesome to see your little one's results!!!
Our media specialist does something called the Millionaire's Club. When a student reads one million words she takes their picture and hangs it on the wall in the library. At the end of the year, all the millionaire's dress up AS millionaire's and have a breakfast with a guest speaker. It gets pretty competitive. I have a student that earned 1,500 A.R. points this year. I'm pretty certain that has to be a school record. Blew me away for sure. :)
